Norman Whitla: Titanic and Nomadic

This painting in acrylic is of the RMS Titanic and the RMS Nomadic. The Nomadic was built as a tender to the RMS Titanic and RMS Olympic. She was launched in 1911 and is the last surviving White Star Line Vessel in the world. The Nomadic carried passengers, luggage, mail and ships supplies to and from the ocean liners that were too big to dock in the Cherbourg harbour. In this depiction you can see how Whitla has an extraordinary eye for detail and keeps his paintings completely historically accurate. From this painting you can appriciate the sheer size of the Titanic in comparison to other ships and therefore you can understand why it went down in history before it was even launched. Acrylic on Canvas.
